How To Gt Rid Of Ivy

I have a problem with ivy growing through a fairly solid, 6 foot high wooden fence. It is coming through from a garden to the rear of my property and .strangling shrubs and other plants .How can I get rid of it for good ?

all I know is that it's a swine to get rid of.
Are you on friendly terms with the neighbour?

Just keep cutting it back and putting something on the stem to let it trickle into the roots.

If you can approach your neighbour, ask if they want it growing on their side. If not you can cut the stems as near to the ground as possible and then remove the dead tissue in due course. If you cannot do this pull as much of the ivy through the fence as you can and cut it off and then keep an eye on it and remove as necessary.
