I noticed that Office Web Servers does not work very well with Excel file. I have one document in which i have inserted various changes. Now i am getting the error messsage.
Error message: This file is not in a recognizable format.
How can i remove the error or what should I do?
Certainly sounds like corruption. Can you get a copy of the file and try opening it on a non-cloud version of Excel ? Backing it up before trying to fix it might be a good idea anyway.
Moderator's note:
Posts like this from new members (often with a hint of Asian English in them) have a nasty habit of being followed by posts from other new members, providing links to 'wonder products'. (i.e. they're poorly-disguised spam). If such a secondary post turns up here, I'll simply delete this thread.
I apologise for the suggestion that you might be spammer then. (I've been zapping about ten posts like yours every week for several years because, without fail, they've always been followed by links, from other new members who just happen to know of a solution to the problem. Yours is only the second genuine query that I've mistaken for spam).

Are you trying to edit a file from home on your office computer, or vice versa? I just wonder if the version of Excel on your office computer is older than the one on your home machine, so doesn't recognize the format.
There are dozens of programs that can be installed on your computer to open Microsoft Office documents and other office or rich-text documents (for example https://www.openfiletool.com/xlsxopen.html) Also you can try LibreOffice. It is available for all major platforms including Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, and Linux. Google Docs, available from Google.
