for a themed Italian meal. Am planning one for a friend soon and don't know whether three courses are enough without adding bread in as well. If i had bread with a starter of buffalo mozarella parma ham, rocket and maybe fresh figs, what bread should i use if any......

breadsticks? You'll often find them on tables in Italy; not substantial enough to be a course, so they should satisfy people like ummmm (and me) who don't necessarily want to spoil their appetite before the main courses.

there will only be the two of us, but she is not a fussy eater luckily, but breadsticks sound ideal, they had some nice sesame seed ones when i checked with sainsburys on line.
Much to Peter Kay's disgust, I perhaps would
put a portion of Garlic Bread....yes, garlic bread!...as an extra. :-)

not so sure of the garlic bread, will see. someone suggested olive oil bread which sound not too heavy, but think i might just go with the breadsticks.

its for a friend, we only see each other once a week, so i promised a nice dinner sometime before Christmas.
breadsticks especially good if the guest is Chinese, they can double as cutlery
