I'm on BTTV and quite often buy TV series. I watch on a Samsung Full HDTV and have the choice of buying SD or HD programmes. I have bought both and can't really see any difference. Would you spend more on HD, it adds up when buying a complete series.

It depends on the size of your TV (I wouldn't bother with HD for anything under about 40") and the quality of the original recording - for instance, there's not much point buying a series from the 70s (say Dad's Army) in HD - it wasn't made to that standard. Otherwise just go with your eyes - if you can't see the difference, save your pennies.

If you can't see the difference, just buy SD

Just what I wanted to hear HC, I am quite severely colour blind so don't always know if it's just me.
