I don't know but looking to see if I could help you I've found that it could take up to 40 days and if approved you are backdated from the date you applied

forever if they owe you money, the other way around and they are onto you like a shot.

It took about 10 days for my OH to receive his basic claim, but it took less than a week for him to receive his higher rate.
A lot depends on what details are put on your claim Form. Verification may take some time.
Our initial claim was checked by Age UK before we submitted it.

DWP are pretty hopeless
claims excluded - sometimes never - or usually never

I even made a vol dec on overpayment ( voluntary declaration )
and even made enquiries about was I under a duty to say
"hullooooo - I made a vol dec, didja get it or what ?"
( No I wasnt )

in September and they started claw back in .. January without even an explanation of what they were up to - the total clawback after twelve months was exactly the amount I had declared overpaid
They never said diddly squat

they really are that crap

I have always found DWP very helpful, everyone I have spoken to has tried to work out the issue with me and when I have phoned for OH too. Still I have found most official bodies helpful including IR and my local council.
