Thanks Tony - past my bed time - should have looked on Ebay and Amazon. Have looked on the Amazon one - it is £60 but looks good - would you pay that amount.

The best place to buy globes from has to be Stanfords. (It's the biggest map and guide shop in the world where, for example, explorers making TV documentaries all get their maps from). It's also one of my favourite shops in London:

My parents bought me one from WHSmith's a few years ago.
