If he were a murderous tyrant I could understand the objections but he isn't; he's just someone who gets right up the left's nose, hardly a reason for banning him. He will never be forgiven for beating the fragrant Hillary.
He’s the elected president of the USA. Whatever anyone thinks of him he should be invited to come here, and this country, politicians and public alike, should greet him with diplomacy and dignity. Anything less is an embarrassment to ourselves.
I suspect that the prospect of a state visit is actually being used to keep him out. The govt can’t really cancel it but they can quietly behind the scenes make it very hard for it ever to happen

It is of course nothing to do with matters of left or right. Or Hillary Clinton. He’s fallen out with the Tory government and MPs and what was it George W Bush said after his inauguration speech: ‘That was some weird ***!’ He has managed to make Dubya look like some brown rice-wielding avant-garde liberal. Quite an achievement. Possibly his only one :-)
