// A catalogue of police failures over the death of a 13-month-old girl has been laid bare by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
Poppi Worthington died in 2012 with a family court judge finding she had been sexually assaulted by her father Paul, who denies any wrongdoing.
Cumbria Police allowed evidence to be thrown away, failed to properly investigate abuse claims and sent incorrect information to the coroner.
The force said it had "let Poppi down". //

there is quite a lot that we havent been told
( irrelevant to an inquest )
The pathologist doesnt know why Poppi died - and shrugs her shoulders and says - "well God knows quite honestly" - even tho she is on the look out for abuse.
Erm - is she the only one at the childrens hospital ? what about ringing up someone who knows what he is doing ..... or did four or five people gather round have a conflab ... and say " there really is nothing to show why this child died"
in which case you are gonna have real problems showing Paul W is the man wot did it.
secondly this is midstream of the Good Old Days when if a baby doctor said something the parent didnt like - you reported him to the GMC who struck him off!
Quite naturally - baby doctors stopped doing child abuse work

depressing case about 'lets not believe the doctors!"
"There are up to 5000 wrongly imprisoned parents for something we know they didnt do." says Margaret Hodge
and so Poppi is the logical and predictable outcome of this
