I've had a blood test today to check my cholesterol, even though Doc said taking thyroxine which I do take, can give a false reading for cholesterol levels, my question is how will they know if it's high or low then, if it's a false reading
" Doc said taking thyroxine which I do take, can give a false reading for cholesterol levels,"
I disagree with your doctor.
Yes, if your TSH is high, that is your thyroid is underactive, that might affect you blood cholesterol BUT, as you are taking thyroxine, then your TSH will be normal and wont affect your blood cholesterol readings.
Does that make sense?
