Yay! I for one definitely think this is a very positive step in the right direction. It would be great to see common sense encouraged.
And to sell off cheaply is also a good move as long as greed does not cause folk who can afford the higher price to wait for "deals".

There are several charity shops already doing this. In our town we have a shop selling supermarket sell -by date and excess items with all the money going to aid Armed services veterans. Not everything is out of date but as pointed out on here some people literally clear the shelves and then probably sell it on.
