Help needed with last 2 of a small local monthly quiz/crossword.
One clue has 9 letters in total in its answer, but it can be made up of 9 letters or any combination (1/8, 2/7, 3/6 etc) to make a total of 9. The other consists of 3 letters
Clue 1: Internal con (9) I have P?T?P???S (I wonder if it is Pet Spoofs, or similar).
Clue 2: No clue (3) I have I?? (if it is Spoofs in clue 1, then I would have I?O).
I have not seen a clue like 'No Clue' before. Is this a genuine clue, or does it mean that the setter has submitted the crossword without checking their work?
Rather bemused by the whole thing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone for all your help and suggestions. I contacted the Rural Trader today, and they realise that the 'compositor' (do they really still have compositors?) hadn't recognised that the note alongside the grid said, 'No clue' meaning that they were still awaiting a clue from the setter...... Oh dearie me. They are going to void the question, so with your assistance I am finished and ready to submit my puzzle.
