Hello. It is snowing here. Good chance to finish off the crossie. One I can't get at all and the others are appeals for explanations. Help please!

The one I cannot get an answer to that makes sense to me is: Household gods around to protect one in row. I have ?h?i?l and the only word I can think of is thrill but it makes no sense to me. Is there some Greek or Roman ( or anybody else's) set of gods?
The ones where I think I have the answer but need an explanation are:
Nancy's also working with Nickto provide school folder. (4,6) I have e?o?/ c?l?a?. Eton collar fits that and that could be a school folder. But what gives with Nancy and Nick?
The other is: you might say I wait in line for some measure of this. The letters I have suggest " intelligence" might be the answer. But why?

SWMBO is determined I keep warm! She bought me and insisted I wear a thing called Long Johns. I look stupid . I feel I am like Andy Pandy ( from when I really was little). Fortunately nobody other than SWMBO as seen them. I told His Nibs and he thinks it hilarious. Of course!
