emmie I've never really enquired with the council but I don't think fibromyagia is considered a disability or arthritis for that matter, although how I feel some days it should be, thank you for the link Tilly.
I suspect that you would need to be eligible for a blue badge to get the bus pass before normal qualifying age but no harm in contacting the council to check it out
Do you have a partner? You can bus and rail travel passes if you or your partner are old enough to qualify. Also if your partner is old enough to get pension credit he/she can claim as a couple and get it for both of you.
My local fish and chip shop does a senior citizen meal, fish chips or pie and chips for £2.85 instead of £4.50 , you just need to be over 60.They don't ask for proof just ask for a senior citizens meal.
The same in Scotland mikey. Bus pass at 60 here. The £30 a year senior railcard is brilliant. We take the train to Edinburgh, return costs us £5.70 for a 60 mile plus round trip
