30 exit
30 E-XI-t(o)
72 etc Rag and Bone Man
67 Odd-S
17 seen as either 'man size' or 'out size'
EXITS, ODDS, and RAG ABD BONE MAN are fine and could come from any cryptic crossword. Some of the answers I've seen for other clues- such as barometer and the answers to the mush mush and blah blah clues, seem very odd indeed so it's hard to know where to start for16a, 48a and 17. Do you have any letters please?
16 poles
17 Elf like

apparently
elf like isn't perfect but seems more likely than the other options of man size and outsize, although again letters would throw more light on the likely answer
Poles works well
letters we had earlier were

??? ?I?E

so we did us bestest
I think it could be any of them (mansize, outsize, elflike) on reflection, Mamyalynne. In fact I've moved away from elflike now.
I wonder if there are any more crossing letters we could try to find.

Have them all sorted now- many thanks to everyone who answered :)
It's Christmas themed crossword so elf like and that would be the most likely clues
