AOL Helpline or not?

Am I the only person who thinks AOL Helpline has gone down the pan? They can't seem to answer simple questions and pass the buck persistently. What do you think?

I've heard nothing but bad reports about the AOL helpline. I don't recommend them to anyone.

At the same time, ISPs are notorious for their suport services anyway.

I've been with AOL for about 4 years now and their help used to be great. The last time I asked for help their first response was to offer me a dearer broadband package, very insistent they were until I told the bloke I would cancel my package altogether and go somewhere else if he persisted.

I have recently had a problem with Broadband, every time someone rang the telephone the Broadband shut down, AOL were absolutely useless, couldn't give me any help and blamed BT - all I needed were a couple more filters (the white boxes that plug into the phone socket). Touch wood everything is fine now. Why dont they get staff who can actually help? Online technical is useless, if you phone them it costs an arm and a leg and if they phone you back they just say, if the problem persists, contact them again in a couple of days! I think all providers are the same though.
