Daughter, 3/4 grandchildren and me are driving up to meet my brother at Knutsford in the morning. We are meeting for lunch and a Christmas catch-up. Not looking forward to the journey as there will be thousands on the roads. Under normal conditions it would take about 2.5 hours. Heavens knows tomorrow!

Lovely place is Knutsford ( I don't mean the M6 motorway services ).
It'll be worth it, Caran.

Not sure yet whether it is 3 or 4 of grandchildren coming with us. Teenage grandson yet to make his mind up.
You might be alright in the morning. It'll be after lunchtime that things get nasty.

They are picking me up at 9.45 am. For lunch at 1.00 pm. Return journey could be hairy!
Yeah, take it easy on the return journey, Caran. Birmingham area M6 will be bad.
Question Author
Thanks tonyav, will do.
Just relised that you will be travelling North up the M5 ( and South on your return ) to join the M6. There are a lot of road works going on M5 junc 3 onwards to junc 1.
