Hi, has anyone cooked a large piece of Gammon in a slow cooker? Have found a recipe that uses cider, apple juice and water, got it going at 7.30 this morning and looks like it is cooking but there are no bubbles, recipe says it takes 8hrs, but would love to see bubbles, anyone any idea. Thanks

Unless the ingredients went in hot it will take a long time to get to simmer. So long as it is on the right setting (I keep mine on high until I do get a few bubbles then down to low) If you are worried it won't be fully cooked give it an extra hour . Should be fine
Also if everything was fridge cold when it went in it will add to the cooking time.
I do as Rowan does till I can hear some bubbling then turn to Auto (on my model), am happy then.
