I guess if no-one found him funny then he would never have become famous in the first place. Each to their own as regards comedy. I can't stand Steve Coogan and think the office is crap but thats my taste. I would never call anyone for liking what and who they like or what they find funny. Jim Davidson has been fantastic with the troops often visiting them and entertaining them. In my books, that makes him a decent bloke. So he's been made bankrupt, so what! It happens to loads of people every day. he'll be OK of that I'm certain.
Who cares if he swears a lot? It's the fact that he's a racist wife-beater whose performances stir up unfair racial stereotypes that's wrong.
Yes, he does a lot of work entertaining the troops but I seem to remember Hitler's speeches were pretty good at motivating the Germans.
It's maybe a bit unfair to class him as a comedian. He's a joke-teller who doesn't write his own material. Or rather a joke thief. I remember a few years ago a bunch of well-known proper comedians decided to play 'Jim Davidson Bingo'. They sat in the audience and when he told one of their jokes, they stood up and left. The winner was the last person remaining.
