Should I get - the window measures 77 inches wide and approx 70 inches drop. I like the idea of the eyelet curtains as I have a spare pole for them.

Thanks in anticipation

I'd go

Width - 168cm / 66"
Drop - 228cm / 90"
2.5 x the width is my rule for the living room, I can be a bit meaner in bedrooms, the length is a matter of choice, 90" is probably the best for ready made.

They (Next) have 168 x 183 but I don't want them so long do I or they will need turning up and I don't want to spend money on that too
That's 72" so will only just cover the window - if you're happy then that will do it.
You need to convert your measurements to cm, it's 188 x 171.5, if 168 is one curtain that would give you 336 cm which is about right. The drop is 172 cm so 183 would come just below your window, if it's a floor high window then there'd be a bit on the floor but remember your pole would be higher than 171.5 so not much.
Have a look a Dunelm -if you have one - they have a large variety of ready made curtains to fit various sizes. If you take in the measurements they will guide you to the correct size
Why not just make the curtains yourself in order to get exactly the right size? Curtain-making isn't rocket-science!

A belated thank you all for your help
I’m heading out in the sales for some
HNY to you all
Don't forget to allow some extra for width. Usual rule of thumb is a width and a half for each curtain.
