Idea

What about this for an idea .You see all this P . Correctness business go about . No one will tell us or admit to us where it all comes from and who comes up with it . So my idea is let’s have a PC day and those who wish to change the rules and ideals we have lived with for centuries come to the Houses of Parliament and be given the chamber for a day to have their ideas debated on ,then voted on . I know parly is busy avoiding getting out of Europe at the moment but just one day each year would not be missed . At least the faceless would have to be seen if their hair brain ideas were to be accepted by the public .Do you know I cant remember one of them now but if they were mentioned I would remember them . Not April 1st it’s not available .Well what do you think

and they change
and differ according to culture
knee-jare was OK in the twenties - and not now
sanitary was taboo in the 89s - 1890s that is! - and now does NOT mean towel as first meaning
I mentioned that I had picked up Paardevleis in a supermarket in Holland and when I found what it was thought - oh my god I have TOUCHED horse meat aaargh ! and a Hindu ( cows yeah?) said she hadnt realised that horse meat was a taboo food for anglo-saxons. (or dog meat or cat meat or rat meat )
as for a taboo action - sax in public springs to mind
but clouting someone else's kid was OK in the fifties
but clouting anything now is frowned upon....
taboos were always there
