so the answer seems to be send them home, unless they can prove themselves in some way that only Trump seems to know..
Pretty much.
Demonise foreigners (he's effectively branding all Salvadoreans as potential criminals) and "send 'em back".
His main message to America and the world. No doubt many should have returned by now, but there are surely more epressing concerns he could be dealing with in between cheeseburgering his way through wall to wall bedroom tv. That is why it is sad.
He’s enforcing a stipulation of residency. Harsh, but always been a conditional clause from the beginning. I think he is right. They are a soft target to achieve political promises.
Seems fine to me. It's a temporary stay that has come to the end.

He is delivering is election promises, something I know the left find hard as a concept.

Pity we dont do the same.
It’s not the ‘delivering on promises! but that is the problem for me but the actual promises.
In any case these are promises of the ‘lets paint the Alabama kerbstones red’ variety. Lots of paint and bingo: there you are, another promise fulfilled. Those sorts of promise are comparatively easy to keep as they are measurable and everyone can see when you’ve done it
Ich, I hate to break this to you but quite a lot of people have different ideas on the way things should be done to you. And they are not always wrong.
88% of Salvadoreans are employed and paying tax, up to 20% are homeowners, their children were born there, are they really the type of people the US needs to lose, or should they just start off with one, Donald Trump, instead?
"Ich, I hate to break this to you but quite a lot of people have different ideas on the way things should be done to you. And they are not always wrong. "

You don't say ymb. What you are really saying is "opinions differ on the subject"
AB would be a bit dull otherwise.

kvaldir
how do you know those figures?
Figures quoted by the Centre for Migration Studies:
88% of Salvadorans are in the paying tax system compared to 63% of Americans generally.
// that due to the US practice of granted citizenship to babies born inside the United States, there are now nearly 200,000 US citizens who were born to [foreign] parents//

good for the Land of the Free! - erm no actually - this is the old international law custom where the jus solis ( law of the ground ) trumps the jus gentium ( law of the people )

Historically caused trouble in the 2nd Boer War where the young fellas of the Brits were called up - to fight on the Boer side ! ( coz they were Boere see ? having been born in the Dutch Republics ). Those bally Brits asked what would happen if the kids didnt obey and the burghers ( Boere in charge see?) said - oh we will shoot them! Result: 200 000 refugees - alot of whoom had been robbed by the Boer train guards as they fled - on the Natal border all itching to join up.....

I had a good laugh at all this
because NJ - our very own AB judge - wants to repatriate British Sovereignty to England so that a future govt can do exactly the same to the Poles and other EU citizens lawfully permanently resident here ! - take their settled rights away - and turf them out !

perhaps they can take their skills back to El Salvador.
The place must need people who are working and can contribute to their society.
Yes I am sure there are thousands of vacancies just waiting to be filled.
In fact that is no doubt that Trump is thinking: I did say he was a genius - in fact so did he.
Question Author
if the place needs people of working age why not.

no wonder they don't want to return

and our very own Eddie publicly wondered if his liddle daughter ( let us call her Princess Eddie ) was British or Zambian (*) having been born in Lusaka ( yeah the city just to the left of Lasagna, Africa somewhere - in an area that has changed its name at least five times )

n I said yeah unless you registered it at the British High Commission

n it later transpired that he had driven for three days and nights to do exactly that at the colonial outpost Central Maguguland (think beginning of Gladiator for the obstacles he encountered and throw in a few stuffed lions)

(*) one ignorant ABer not conversant with laws of nationality, asked in a post-Brexit spirit - well that colour is she ? - and then the common fellow added - if it were Lasagna they probably would have eaten her.

I suspect most will not leave.
The USA is founded on the spirit that brough these people in the first place. I am not sure what sort of America Trump is trying to "make great" again but it seems to be a very limited one
