My lot thankfully stopped climbing everything in sight when they ceased to be kittens (but not before they'd shredded every curtain in my house). The only real exception now is Moonbeam, who sometimes likes to climb up my back, dig his claws in to hold on and then (still with his claws firmly embedded in my back) gradually allow himself to slide back down again. Ouch!

I fell asleep earlier but woke up a little while ago. I have three Dreamies stuffed with steroids to give to the whitefaced in my avatars. He is refusing to eat them.

It might be long night ...

I've just eaten half a can of salmon as a late night (early morning?) snack.

Only half a can, you'll note, because it was made very clear to me that there were others who wanted some salmon too. It's a bit like when I buy myself a chicken and stuffing sandwich for my tea. I always seem to end up with just a stuffing sandwich :(

Many years ago my daughter worked for an animal shelter, arrived home with a cardboard ox containing 4 kittens, too young to stay at the shelter.

"I'll look after them dad", "yeah right" .

I stuck my hand into the box, very gently, the night they arrived, and one shredded me!!.

One month later it was my best friend, wish I could of kept the little fella.

Although I like to think I would never have become his slave.

Enslavement isn't optional, 1ozzy. It comes with the cat!

I refer to my neighbour as the "mad cat Lady".

Takes in every stray, haven't found a reason to like her cats yet but I try.

I think the problem is they haven't been socialised, probably too old when they arrived at her doorstep.

None of my cats are 'socialised', in the sense of liking humans. They all run a mile as soon as anyone comes near them. The only exception they make is for the 'honorary cat' whom they decided was their substitute Mum when their real Mum's milk ran out. i.e. me!

He has snaffled his Dreamies so I am off to bed.

In about twelve hours it will all start again. I am beginning to suspect that he knows that the Prednisolone is hidden in the treats. He is just toying with me ...
