On reflection, Diamond may not be a brand name, but Robinsons is, also Avery, hidden in the clue.

I prefer FF's suggestion of AVERY to mine of Robinsons. I am not going to rule mine out, but it doesn't explain the "is a very nice lady" bit, unless it is being sarcastic and is referring to her stage persona of being NOT very nice. AVERY fits everything - Anne Avery is the pen name of an American author.
