Times. If 12 across is “impetus” (namely, union’s bringing in police force) and 17 ac is “corrector” (who might bring out errors in Biblical book? A clergyman) how do I parse or am I wrong?

Thank you. I did think that but it seemed a bit unsatisfactory. What about impetus?
ie (namely) mp (military police) us (USA)
Jack, you are missing the 't'
Question Author
Thank you...but what about the “t”?
I'm wrong. It's mp inside ie plus tu's (trade union's)
mp(police) inside ie(namely) + tu's(trade unions)
Jackdaws
ie + MP + Tu's (Trade Union's)
