Woman to my right ( yapping on her phone ). - " excuse me have you taken my money ?"

Woman - "yes im serious"

I always remember this even though it is over 40 years ago. There used to be a radio panel game called My Word, with team captains Frank Muir and Denis Norden. For the last round each was given a phrase or saying which they had to expand on. They would then tell a shaggy dog story, the punchline of which would be a mangling of the phrase they had been given. Frank Muir was given, 'They passed over and the trumpets sounded on the other side'. He then launched into a convoluted account of two young men who were trying to get to France in search of sexual adventure. After many setbacks they managed to get a flight from Gatwick. The punchline? 'So they passed Dover and the strumpets undid on the other side'. Even today it makes me laugh.
