pixie...I may be mistaken but she has had prostaglandin pessaries vaginally...that is a chemical induction.
I am sure in the numerous posts that NoM said she had the pessary.

Yes, sqad- but they do nothing anyway. I think that's just to appease the mother for 24 hours... while they hope she naturally goes into labour.

pixie....disagree...no appeasing.....if after 2 pessaries ( prostglandins) the cervix is still not ripe, then a drip (Pitocin) will be extremely unlikely to help.
Most women and most Obstetricians would go for C-Section.

Ok xx I have never known them to work with anybody- but the drip always has done. That's just experience though, nothing medical.

Just as an aside,
when my son was born, nearly 22 yrs ago now, when the medics left the delivery room, I had a go on the gas and air. Very nice it was too. Can I buy it off the internet anywhere? ;-)
It got me through the delivery no problem...

By now I'm going with sqad re. delivery. I'm assuming the pessaries were the type that should have done the job. Caesarian later today, perhaps. A friend assured me (after 3 C-sections) that it's 'the only way to travel!'.
