Anyone else think the new BBC weather map is LESS clear than the one it's replaced? The default map is too small - we don't need to see the Low Countries, Denmark and a chunk of Norway - and they've ruined the look of the map by putting black backgrounds to all the names of the towns and cities. What was wrong with the old one, that they had to 'fix' it?
I don't like the new Spotlight one. Difficult to read with the temperature stuck up above the rest instead of all on one line. Why do they always change things? If it ain't broke don't fix it!!
There's no point putting up the link because it won't appear in the box, but if people go to the BBC iplayer site and go to the W section, you can see the Weather For The Week Ahead clip, and the new maps are on there.
Got to admit I don't like what they've done with it, but the BBC do tinker with the format of the map every feew years.
Well, it's not really the BBC to blame is it? The weather-forecasting contract was transferred from The Met Office to MeteoGroup (to save money).....so, presumably, MeteoGroup had a big say in how the forecast was presented.
I've just watched another couple of forecasts, and it's annoying me even more than it first did - it's awful. All those town/city names backed in black plastered everywhere on a too-small map!
