Well pre workout many including myself take stims for energy, focus and fat loss but these are all shop bought.
Paul as you know protein builds muscle and after a workout your body's screaming out for protein so a quick digesting whey protein and carb shake is mandatory as food takes much longer to digest leaving your body in a catabolic state for a long time, the other time to have a shake is first thing in the morning as your body has been fasting as you sleep. There are no side effects with a protein shake, what are your goals paul? Just keeping fit or losing/gaining weight?

at the moment I'm just maintaining my strength without putting on any mass, in fact trying to lose a bit, I'm training for a marathon in october so it's mainly about eating alright and carbs before my big runs, but after october I'll want to put a bit more back on for the long winter months of the rugby season, only a bit though, I'm a winger so it's mainly my leg strength.
Lol, jelly beans are pretty wild! I would've thought that with all of creatines benefits all rugby players took it.

cheers for that wrongn3mber, I'll look further into that, I've never really considered any kind of supplements.. I'm the kind that only takes paracetamol when I'm close to tears.. but I will look into it. I suppose the added recovery speed could one day help me avoid being cut in half so it may very well be worth it!
Yes it's worth looking into or asking your coach or team members about and I do understand that not everyone likes putting different substances in their bodies but my guess is if you have a team that are constantly bigger, faster and stronger then yours and are always winning, It's a possibility they're taking creatine, lol.
the real dangers are that you will buy fake steroids learn how to avoid this by visiting sites such as http://buysteroidsuk.co/, real steroids taken at sensible dosages have very few side effects. smoking and drinking are far more dangerous yet very few press articles attac kthose two vices.
