Saturday. I haven't looked out yet, but will do shortly. I had a wee lie in this morning. didn't get back from the hospice until late. The evening went very well. The speaker was an ex-RAF Navigator on Hercules aircraft. He was in some parts of the world as me at the same time. It's possible I flew in his aircraft on several occasions. We had a chinwag when he'd finished. A nice bloke with a good sense of humour. We've arranged to meet up in the not too distant future.
The bar took just under £200. Not bad. There was a gallon tin of beer with a built in tap. Now I've opened many of those, this was the one that didn't open properly. It went all over my trousers. I thought I hope I don't get stopped by the old bill on the way home. they'll never believe me!
Down on the canal today. The weather report is good, so we should be busy.
I got my lamp sorted. It was the wick. The one I was using was siphoning the fuel up and burning too much. The lovely chap's going to send me some proper wick.
Minty,
The night nurse is on her way back to the cupboard muttering "make your mind up", plus industrial sized box of tissues and whisky, honey and hot water on tap. XXOOXX.
