I am shortly paying my holiday balance by Credit Card, should the holiday company deduct the credit card charge or will I still have to pay it ?

..it should be deducted as you are only now paying the balance.

I thought they'd stopped doing that? I read about it somewhere the other day but can't remember where.
From early Jan 2018, nobody should be charging you a fee to use a credit card....
It's been illegal since 13 January to charge extra for using either debit or credit cards. (If you're referring to some other type of charge, please elucidate).

The holiday has been arranged since last year so the charge was already added, I wondered if it should be deducted from balance.
Ring them and ask them, Poppy.

The sum they quote as the balance should no longer have a fee included. If they haven't adjusted the balance figure since you paid the deposit, ask them why.
