can anyone suggest a game of chance played by betting on the order of appearance of certain cards.

Play Jacks.

Sit round in a circle and turn over a card for each player. The 1st person who gets a Jack has to choose a few ingredients of a alcoholic drink. (Half a lager, shot of vodka, shot of gin topped up with fresh orange etc)

The 2nd person to get a jack goes and buys the drink

The 3rd person to get a jack has to have a taste of the drink

The 4th person to get a jack downs it.

Probably not what you had in mind if you were thinking about saying somehting on the line of "I bet �1 that the 18th card is a heart" but hey, mines still a good game!
