Who is/was the best character in Coronation Street?

OK ABers, who, in your humble opinion ,was - or is - the best character in Corrie?
Don't be afraid of showing your age by your answers!

For me, the best previous character would be a tie between Elsie Tanner and Raquel while back in th present day, you can't beat Steve McDonald's comic timing.

Interested to know what the rest of you think.

Stan and Hilda Ogden, along with Eddie Yates when he lived with them were a great comic trio.

classic and I cried buckets when she was clutching Stan's glasses case when he died , and when she left to go and work as a posh housekeeper for the doctor....


...these days Norris and Blanch seem to have some classic comedy lines..... but my fave has to be Sean...Corrie has always been the campest soap ever so it's about time they had a camp character....long may he mince ....

Classics were Hilda Ogden, Elsie Tanner, Bet Lynch.
But today although I like most of them For me Blanche Hunt stands out the most her timing and facial expressions are spot on . "NINETY!". I also like Sean and Eileen.:-D
