From my son who is skin & bone & suffered too long now - please tell me wots the ailment.

Is he stressed, anxious or troubled or depressed in any way? Any accompanying symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps?
His GP would start out by requesting a stool sample. In the meantime it wouldn't do any harm to get as many probiotics down him as possible.

JD, even Sqad with all his knowledge and experience isn't going to be able to make a formal diagnosis in a case like this as it could be due to any number of causes.
However, other factors and symptoms can be taken into consideration in order to give a better picture of the problem.
