builders

I never ever complain about anything but I am about to explode! I live on a new housing estate. They are starting the final stage of building. I totally understand that the houses have to be built somehow but they are starting at 6.45 in the morning. The entire house shudders and cracks are appearing in the plaster work. The builders are shouting and swearing and my 8 year old little girl now knows the word c*nt, which is lovely. Am I within my rights to complain or am I being unreasonable?

I am in the building trade, and must admit our language can be a bit strong, but you should not have to put up with this sort of behaviour on a site that is occupied, go to the site office and ask to see the site manager or the clerk of works, tell him exactly what is happening, this should sort it, if not, speak to one of the executives of the main contractors, hope you get it sorted,do it today, good luck, Ray
PS that particular word you mention,is the most offensive word I know and i never use it,it makes me cringe .

Never mind the site manager if it is a local housing firm go to their offices and demand to speak to the main man, if you get told you have to make an appointment start swearing at the receptionist somebody will come from somewhere and say what you doing is not on - this is the moment you turn around and say no but it is for your builders to my 8 year old and then explain what is happening - it will work as i have done this.
If it is a national firm then go to their regional offices and try the same stunt.

Thanks everyone for replying. I phoned the housing company (Ben Bailey) and spoke to customer complaints. They then contacted the site manager who came round and apologised. He was very nice and said that they have permission to begin work at 7.30 but certainly not before. He has asked them to tone the language down.
He said in future to go directly to him and not through head office.
The cracks in the plaster work are apparently due to the house 'settling' but he has agreed to fill them all in.
So I feel a bit more relaxed than I did this morning!
