We have it flickering about here and we get it it's usually heavy so have plenty of logs and candles so now we wait. Hope we get a ton of it, I love it :)
I'm with you kvalidir , from our flat 7 floors up the world looks so beautiful after heavy snow.
We had a small flurry an hour ago, I have 6 pints of milk, will it be enough ?
Depends if you need to make custard or not.
Custard, oh no!!! Need more milk.
or if you like cappuccino style coffees and milky hot chocolate at bedtime.
Not too bad here in N Notts, bloody cold but only the odd flurry of snow.Just finishing off a few jobs then off to Tesco for a few essentials Just in case the worst happens a case of cider, a bottle of Glen Morange, and some wine and I suppose I'd better get some thing to eat while I'm out.
Thanks for the link, Tilly. We might get 1/2 inch on Thursday. That is all. Good but we rarely get it in far SW. Have to think ahead more when you have no transport and not very mobile.
Just flurries here in North Northants today - we may miss the worst tomorrow too (just on the edge of the Amber Warning area).

Plenty of coffee, wine and loo roll etc - the only shortage identified so far is Liquorice Allsorts ...
It's perishing in Blackpool......but no sign of any snow, yet. :o(
Knitted Thermals, JtH?
Having been cut off for 9 days a few years ago, I have since then taken precautions. Tinned food in case the electricity and freezers go off. Logs for open fire ( thank goodness). Candles of all sorts. Battery torches. Gas hob which I can light from a match. Loads of quilts and blankets. Battery radios. And, most important of all, chains for my boots so if I absolutely must go out, I could trek to a petrol station for a few basics like milk, if my milkman can't make it.
Go on blizzards, chuck it at me. See who lasts longest.
Well the authorities have had ample warning of impending doom so one would hope that they've made provisions to keep at least the main roads gritted. I'm not holding my breath through
I have crampons that I can wear over my boots, if I need to go out again. The only thing I am short of is marshmallows and squirty cream for my hot chocolate. What is the minimum order for ocado
Addition to last, above : sky went dull and overcast, five flakes of snow fell in my garden a few minutes ago, but now it is full of bright sunshine, the sky is cloudless blue, and the wind has dropped. Do you suppose that is all I am going to get ? I do hope so !
