has anyone had any dealings with the national homebuyers? reason i'm asking is because if i want to sell my house as quick as possible they say they can buy it straight away! i've looked through thier web site & leaflets but can't seem to find any hidden costs etc? would i be making a mistake to get them to sell it as quick as poss or wait & let the estate agent deal with it? any help greatly appreciated, thanks.

If this is the same company that advertises on tv, I'm pretty sure there is a disclaimer on the bottom of the screen that says that any offer will be BELOW the market value of the property. So I guess thats the hidden cost really, you will get less then selling it through an estate agent.

This company does not charge fees because it makes its money by buying at below market value and selling on very quickly.

Typically it offers70% of the market value.

Further, it will charge you several hundred pounds for an assessment and offer. They call this the 'survey fee'.
This is non-refundable if you decide not to sell to them.

This should be the last possible route for you. Get three independent valuations, put your house on the market at mid-value and be prepared to drop for a quick sale.

You will still sell for far more than you will be offered by National Homebuyers.

Unless you are facing imminent bankruptcy, your house is near derelict or there is some other vital aspect.

thanks ethel, thought there must be something "not right" for them to be able to do that, i'm not in any rush to sell , just trying to find all the options, will definitely keep your advice on board, thanks again.

watchdog did a report on this company as they had a number of complaints from people who felt the offer they received was far lower than they had been expecting.
