Can anyone recommend a good, cheap hotel in central Amsterdam for 3/4 lads to stay in during August. Not bothered about luxuries, just clean and reasonably priced will do. Additionally any ideas about how to spend our time wisely would be appreciated.
oh and our time was spent wisely.... shopping, drinking beer and riding the canals on a boat :o) oh and an evening trip to the red light district... curiosity got the better of us!!!
I have just got back from Amsterdam. My boyfriend and I stayed in The Rdaison.
I was really impressed that for only 75 a night we got a delux room with a king size bed, acsess to the gym and sauna and a buffet style breakfast with everything you could possibly think of eating on offer.
The staff were really friendly and all spoke fluent english.
Don't even get me started on how good the bathroom was.
It's also centrally based so within easy walking distance of all the good coffee shops/bars/resturants.
The Red Light District is just around the corner if that sways it for you!!
We booked the flight (which only takes 40minutes!) and accomadation with EasyJet for a total of 220 each for two nights (three days).
Hope this helps, have a lovely time..
Hi
Me and a friend just got back from a weekend break to A'dam. We stayed in the Luxer on Warmoesstraat which is within the red light area, although on the edge rather than in the middle. Rooms were clean and comfortable and cheapish (bout 70 a night).
We have also stayed in the Radisson (which is a bit further out) but it usually costs more. We paid about 125 a night so 21 got a good bargain.
Have a great time.
PS We visited the Heineken museum this time - there are plenty of 'samples' on the way around......well worth a visit
we stayed at the Amstel Botel, right next to Centraal Station, easy walking distance to everything. I think it was about 50/60 per night, breakfast included. The rooms were basic, but very nice. Breakfast was good. The best bit was that it's a hotel shaped as a boat!! (Im easily impressed!).
hi there, eight of us were there last december - we had two four-bed rooms in the hotel lantaerne. it's only two star, but was SO central, right on a canal and had an amazing breakfast. I really can't recommend it enough. http://www.amsterdamhotels.demon.co.uk/lantaer ne.html
