Do you usually do anything special or is it just another day to you?

Well my mother is dead, but I send a gift to my stepmother and one to his mother. But as we live in a different part of the UK we don't see them.
We normally have a family thing - my siblings and partners, my parents and grandparents. This year it's all gone a bit pear shaped. My sister is doing some final exams; I am moving house and my grandfather is probably too ill to go out. :(
My mother and Mother-in-law have both gone, so nobody to do anything for. I always sent cards when they were alive.
Just another day now. I used to give my mum a present and card when she was alive, but we didn't make a big day of it. I'm lucky if my son remembers to send me a card, but I'm not bothered if he doesn't.
I liked when the kids were little and made a card or a little gift...a plasticine flower perhaps, in a tissue covered toilet roll inner......I'm not so bothered now.....

My mother was a grump whatever I gave her or did for her so I'm quite happy to just ignore it now....she'd not know anyway.....x
I always went over with flowers or chocolate and a card, or phoned her if I was away. It will be my first time without her this year :(
My mother is also dead but instead of it now being 'my' day I still have to take the mother-in-law out to lunch. Grrr, and yes I know I'm unsociable.
Daughter and I try to outdo each other. Well she is the mother of my grandchildren! It's a case of who can get in first!!
I do the same on Father's Day with my son in law, he is the father of my grandchildren.
Tomorrow I am going to try and book lunch at our favourite Indian restaurant on Sunday. Hopefully they will have room for us.
We always took my in-laws out, but my F-I-L passed away a couple of weeks ago.

Mary's sister is up from down south and staying for a week, so she is taking M-I-l out, and we are going to our youngest daughter's for Sunday lunch, which will be wonderful.
The only thing I expect for mothers day is for everyone to chip in with the housework.
Always used to make a fuss of my lovely Mum and buy her pressies, but all that's in the past now sadly and I find Mother's Day very hard these days.
