Sqad - further to your very helpful advice yesterday I have just been informed that FIL has in fact had a heart attack and is being kept in.

Completely agree with your prognosis, but just wanted to let you know the latest. Thanks once again.

It takes at least a couple of days before a heart attack registers on an ECG, but a change in blood cardiac enzymes usually appear within hours to give one a clue as to the diagnosis.

I find that interesting, so when someone has gone to A&E with chest pains and have been given an ECG it is unlikely to see a heart attack happening at that time or just prior to going to A&E?
