"battle Of Britain" Film(1969) Tampered With.
7 Answers
This film is showing on ITV 4 , late afternoon, Sat 10th March 2018.
The last time on tv the film's very final credits listed the nationalities
and how many of each took part in the Battle but this time (not on original film release)
added at the end was "Israeli 1".
There may well have been Jewish pilots , probably more than one.
There was no Israel and no Israelis in 1940 !

"At the end of the 1969 film the Battle of Britain a list is shown containing the nationality of pilots that flew for the RAF. It incorrectly includes within this list a single person from Israel. This relates to George Goodman who was born in Haifa in 1920 and which was at the time British military-administered Palestine. Goodman was a British citizen and Israel did not become an independent country until November 1947. In some lists he is even recorded as Palestinian - also incorrectly".

I think Marie Curie ( she widda totally unpronounceable maiden name Slovodbka or something ) always said she was Polish and not Duchy of Polant in the Empire of Russia -
does that count ? I am aware she wasnt a second world war ace.
and can you be Silesian, Swabian or Bavarian ?
( all parts of Germany )
whatabout being Scots ?
