Is Linux Better Than Windows For Developing Websites

I have just started learning to make websites in my spare time as something to do. while trying to get tools to help me out like compilers as such, I have found that they are awkward to set up on windows but they seem to have much better support on Linux. I currently have 2 hard drives so I could install Linux on one of them, but I am not sure which version of Linux to try and whether it is worth it or not. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I can't see why Linux tools should be much better than decent Windows ones but, if you want to give Linux a try, then Ubuntu is probably your best bet, simply because it's by far the most popular distro at the moment (meaning that there's loads of support available if you get stuck).

Which web developer program you'll need to go with it depends upon your needs. (As with Windows, some programs are designed for people who 'really want to get their hands dirty' with complex coding, whereas others are aimed at people who want to keep things really simple).
