Last night, immediately after checking in at reception, Ross encountered the consultant who happened to be passing. If I ever again need hospital treatment, I want to have it at the Hotton hospital.

It's a soap. Miracles happen in a soap!
Nothing unusual, I have bumped into my consultants walking about the hospital.
^^^ yes, but had they agreed to perform your surgery the same day that you decided to have it?
Incidentally, just how close and how big is this fantastic hospital that seems to have half the population of Emmerdale as patients at any one time. I imagined that Hotten was a potty little place...
gingejb. Ross had a letter with an appointment which he finally decided to take.
Wouldn't he/they have had to shave that side of his face before a skin graft?
Probably shaved relevant area whilst under anaesthetic.
And everyone gets a private room.
Its a soap opera everything is blown up to make it more interesting!
I used to greet my consultant in Arabic when I saw him in real life ( in the waiting room)
whilst he had a "shaddup shaddup for chrissakes" lok on his face
You could still see his beard beneath the dressing. I wouldn't be surprised if he will be discharged from hospital looking as if nothing happened. In addition to that, I have never been met by a consultant at hospital in the corridor and called by my first name.

I wouldn't go as far to say "everything" but I must admit there have been more blowing-ups than is normal in
real life. :0)
