Vinegar is a fairly effective disenfectant. It kills many bacteria, moulds and viruses. The standard 5 percent solution in a spray bottle is effective for household purposes... It should be noted, however, that while a solution of common bleach will kill HIV viruses, vinegar has been shown to be ineffective. Suffice it to say that for the usual cleanup duties around the house, vinegar works well.
