Following an operation on my foot.. end of January, I have a ridge of painful tissue that becomes red by end of the day. My G.P. says it’s scar tissue even though it’s not exactly over the op.site,(and I massaged the suture line with lavender oil), she’s given me Voltrol gel to apply. Will this work, I’m padding the area and elevating my foot , .
Any other ideas on how to treat this, I do have a hand deli infra-red massager, Thanks.

My first thought is that it is a stitch abscess.
I think that the Voltarol gel is a good starting point, but i think that you might well have to await developments e.g the prescience of an abscess or a stitch appearing through the skin.
Monitor the situation for the next few weeks.

Thanks Sqad.. It was a soluble suture and had both ends snipped in clinic, but it's now nearly 7 weeks post-op so I'm a bit upset as I was hoping to be fully fit by now.
OK megfitz............just sit back and wait.
