Katie Boyle was my late Dad's only claim to fame - as a Postman in Chelsea he used to deliver her mail !!

You're getting mixed up, Jo.

'Katie', in the Oxo 'Life With Katie' ads, was played by Mary Holland:

Her name in the ad was Katie but the actress was called Mary Holland.
I see the Suffolk carrot-cruncher has beaten me to it again.
I've never heard of her...but boy, she had a long birth name!
// She was born Caterina Irene Elena Maria Imperiali de Principi di Francavilla on 29 May 1926 in a Florentine palace that had once belonged to the Italian royal family.//
I saw her once in Shaftesbury Avenue. She was sitting in the back of a maroon coloured Rolls Royce.
Thanks, jackdaw and Buenchico. I knew there was a Katie around Oxo somewhere.
Yes. She was part of my childhood years and I remember she used to handle the awkward silences during the voting in the Eurovision Somg Contrst, very well. RIP.
I think she had a column in the tv times years ago too.
I wonder which palace she was born in?
She presented Eurovision the year Abba won (it was held in Brighton, as Luxembourg had won 2 years in a row and couldn't afford to do it again) in fact looking up a list of past presenters I see Angela Rippon did it in 1977!
She was a bubbly character. RIP Katie.
I had no idea who she was but she was certainly elegant and what an interesting life?
you'ra a wee bairn Kva ! sigh... I remember too well ! x

when i was younger and saw her on tv i always thought she was a real princess
RIP katie
My dad always commented on how lovely she was, my mum used to huff. I remember the Camay ads, I always liked Pears soap.
shocked that she was 91, i do remember her well.
RIP Katie.
I liked her because she was a champion of dogs, lovely lady. A good age.
