Solved except for one short one! 23d Arnold (or Allen) initially gets confused about his angry entrances. I have G?T?S, and it seems like the answer must be (initial) A + GETS, so GETAS (Thracian king) or GATES (surely not Bill!). I am struggling to connect either with angry entrances.

By the bye, many thanks to Mamyalynne for providing the answer to 1A. Once that was known, the whole rest of the puzzle fell into place and was a lot of fun. I *still* have no idea, though, how Under Milk Wood connects to a bowler (hat or cricket) or Pakistan....
