I have been told that in one battle of the American Civil War, the opposing commanders were father & son. Does anyone know if this is true, & what were the details?

Possibly the Battle for Galveston? which involved Maj. Albert M. Lea and Lt. Edward Lea who were father and son.

Conyngham - Oirish First Brigade (ACW) reports a sniper sniping and killing ... his father. Later goes nuts and is first over the parapet.

Quite a popular meme - my gt uncles were on English/Dutch sides in the Boer War. Both survived.
