Today I have received the following message on my mobile phone -

FreeMsg: you are subscribed to CelltaunBabes for £3 per week until,you send stop to 85878. SP: Digitaun Helpline: 01244459699 or Email [email protected].

Can anybody please tell me what I should be doing with this message.

Some nice kind person (or a technical error) has resulted in your mobile phone number being registered with a service which offers to deliver 'sexy videos' to your mobile phone. Ofcom rules oblige operators of all 'short code' (5 digit) text services to stop sending messages (or providing other services) upon receipt of a 'STOP' message, so that part of the message is definitely something you should do.

However it's likely that you've already been charged the first week's £3 so it might be worth calling the phone number to query what's been going on. If you have problems, contact the regulatory body, PhonepayPlus:

Thank you both for your help and advice. Problem has now been solved, or so I'm led to believe.

Check your bank, too, to make sure you're not being charged for this "service".

Thanks boxtops, nothing showing on this morning's statement, and have been told that I'll get a refund if and when it does show.

Anyway, if it's now cancelled and I don't get anything else from them, I think I can write off £3 to experience.
