The all weather takes prominence today and, while it's not really my cup of tea, some decent horses have come together to make it that more enticing. Not going a bundle on them with the win singles stakes reduced somewhat.
The usual £1.00E/W Acca and 30p Doubles and Trebles.
I noticed a runner in the 1.50 at Bath earlier on offer at 100/1 but whilst prevaricating it dropped to 80s so I did £1.00 E/W. It then went 66s, 40s, 33s 25s......Gower Gold. Who knows? Owned and trained by J Gallagher.
Very kind those gentle folk at 365, Togo. Gave me a free £5 bet credit yesterday and i used it well ; Nonios @ 5/2 (drifted to 7/2), Skipping On @ 2/1 and The Bay Birch @ 11/10 in a £1 Trixie, £1 Treble. All 3 won and, because of the slight drift, my expected £68.25 became £85.95 :-) :-) :-)
Hoping for some of the same, today. Again, good luck.
I have backed Jelena Ostapenko to win the Miami Tennis final at 49/1 to win £800 .The bookmakers have offered me £300 for the bet, What would you do. I have already won £250 on her in previous rounds. She is a higher seed than Sloane Stephens and has not dropped a set in the tournament yet she is not favourite. Have the bookies got it wrong?
Bet 365 are offering odds of 4/6 Stephens and 6/5 Ostapenko.
Depends if the dosh comes in very handy. You could of course cash out and if you fancy her to win put a ton on at the best odds on offer. Sort of win/win. But kick yourself if she does.
gollob; I would never advise anyone to 'cash out' though the £300 offered is much more than your original stake. If you do cash out, you could always take the offer and plough £100 back on her at around the 5/2 mark. That would be a total return of £650 for your initial stake plus the £100. A good day's work by any standards.
When you ask have the bookies got it wrong Gollob, they of course set their odds according to where the money has been laid. I suppose an American in Miami is going to attract the local money for sure, and it is not a major tournament attracting "World" wide interest. The bookies don't care who wins......as long as they do. If you have no time limit to adhere to I suppose you could wait till the last minute and see if they increase the offer. They may of course reduce it.
Haha Ken I did something similar when I had got the first 12 of a 13 team football result acca in. I put £50 on the draw and the opposite result just to make sure I had a decent payout. It was their money in some ways. Although I had no need to....... My prediction came in and I picked up £1,300+ for a £3 stake.
gollob, you said you'd backed her to win the tournament outright so i thought that's the bet on which they'd made the offer? According to the Oddschecker website, she is available at 13/5 to do so - 3rd fav behind Azarenka and Stephens. She is around the 6/5 mark to win her next game. Good luck.
Strike my last. Obviously oddschecker (which is my bible) woefully out of date because they ain't yet caught up with the fact that the only game left IS the final :-/ :-/ So, to recap, i would wait until after the first set, the result of which will obviously affect the offer. Once again, the best of luck.
Or, gollob, or :-) :-) :-), you take the £300, then put £50 on a 2-0 win @ 5/2, and £50 on a 2-1 win @ 4/1 (both prices available at 365). It's a fun problem to have, actually, imvho.
