Since I got my first ibook (2nd hand) I've been unable to download any files on it. In the download window, it says the filename, and e.g. 13.8KB of 6.7MB - Cannot Create File. It means I'm unable to download any new programs. Can any MAC users help?

Thx. All I really know is it is an ibook G4. How do I tell what OS and browser it uses? Sorry, it really is fairly new! (and I'm prob a bit clueless!)
By going to the blue apple top left and selecting "about this Mac" you will be given a window which will tell you what version of the OS you are using. When you connect to the internet do you use Safari (icon looks like a compass) or IE (blue e). Also click on the HD icon and "get info" from file menu or 'apple-i' this will give you a info window and tell you how much space is free on the HD. If you could let me know this would help.

MAC OS X Version 10.4.7.
1.2GHz PowerPC G4
Memory 256MB Built-in
I use Safari to connect to the internet. It says there is 9.67GB available on the hard drive. (18.15GB on disk) I appreciate thats not very much but I was unable to download when I first received the ibook before I started saving files to the hard drive (although it had had a previous user who may have used up a fair bit of the memory too.) Thx!
Can you go to Applications>Utilities>disk Utility and select the HD and repair permissions. Do you Log-in as a user when you switch on? Can you go to Safari preferences and check where your downloads are being saved to and set it to Documents, just for now and try that.
